GPU Prices are finally dropping | May 2022

The GPU prices since the past year and a half had increased so much that the newer GPUs launched by AMD and Nvidia were being sold at more than twice the MSRP.

Due to the GPU shortage brand new GPUs were impossible to find and even the older GPUs were being sold at over twice the MSRP but now after almost 2 years, the GPU prices are finally dropping.

It has almost been 2 years since the GPU shortage struck in and the prices had increased by a huge amount, not only the newer GPUs launched after 2020 but the prices of older budget GPUs also doubled. Many people who wanted to buy a GeForce RTX 3000 GPU or Radeon RX 6000 GPU, were not even able to get a older GeForce GTX card at that price.

The GPU prices started to increase in 2020 because during Covid-19 pandemic many countries shut them-self down thus affecting the production of the newer GPUs. After the GPUs were launched most of the GPUs were bought by scalpers instantly, thus the people who wanted to get a new GPU were unable to get one. Also, the scalpers used to sell the purchased GPUs at a very high price compared to the MSRP.

After all those harsh months of GPU shortage, the customers have finally started to see a drop in GPU pricing where the GeForce RTX 3060 has dropped from 60K INR to as low as 44K INR, RTX 3080 has also been dropped to a price of 90K INR which is almost 20% less than what it was.

Even though the prices have dropped by 15% for all GPUs but still they cost a lot more than their actual MSRP, Still the prices are much lower than what they were and they will keep on decreasing if everything goes on normally.
