AMD RDNA 3 Release Date, Specifications and all what we know

AMD has announced about the launch of their newer upcoming Zen 4 architecture CPUs for their Ryzen lineup and just like another year they announced the launch of their RDNA 3 GPUs which will be the successor of their RDNA 2 GPUs. Just like always these will be placed at an aggressive price to tackle the upcoming Nvidia Geforce GPUs.

The RDNA 1 GPUs launched by AMD gave a tough competition to Nvidia's mid-high end GPUs but they still couldn't beat the higher end of Nvidia GPUs and also didn't support Ray Tracing. Then RDNA 2 GPUs launched gave a really tough blow to Nvidia as these GPUs performed almost the same and were at an aggressive price.

There's not much known about these RDNA 3 GPUs but judging by the leaks and the history of this lineup there is a lot we can figure but they might change because of the chip shortage.

Release Date and Pricing

AMD confirmed that these GPUs are expected to arrive in 2022, so we can expect these GPUs around the last quarter of the year or earlier.

For the pricing there is not much said by AMD but these GPUs will be most costlier than the RDNA 2 GPUs. This is because AMD has been increasing the pricing of its GPUs since the last generation.

Specifications

Well AMD hasn't exactly told anything about the specification but rumours say that this generation of the RDNA architecture is going to be processed on a 5nm fabrication process from TSMC.

Last time there was around 50% performance per watt increase in RDNA 2 as compared to RDNA 1 GPUs, so this helps us assume that we might see atleast 30% leap in RDNA 3 GPUs.

Rumours say AMD will manufacture 3 RDNA 3 GPUs: Navi 31, Navi 32, Navi33. Navi 31 for the flagship and Navi 33 for the least powerful. We don't know about these GPUs but Navi 31 chip will come with 16GB GDDR6X memory on a 256-bit bus and run at up to 2.5GHz.

Performance

There are no benchmarks which can give us an exact view about their performance but as seen in previous generation of RDNA GPUs but leaks say that Navi 31 might perform up to 2.5 times more than the Navi 21 chip used in Radeon RX 6900XT.

These new GPUs might also support Display Port2.0 so you will be able to upto 16K/60Hz display with this. These RDNA GPUs will support Ray Tracing and with the help of AMD FSR you will get a big boost in your FPS in games.

Take this in mind that the chip shortage might delay their launch and increase the pricing. These GPUs will be named as the Radeon 7000 series.
