Common Mistakes that are Destroying your Laptop

Your laptop is a machine made up of many smaller parts which are helping it function properly without causing problems but many times these smaller parts which form your laptop start to get damaged because of some common mistakes you do. Avoiding these mistakes will help you keep your laptop healthier some longer.

Not Cleaning your Laptop Time By Time

A major and common mistake many people do with their laptop is that letting dust, moisture and dirt remain in your laptop. This will cause it to heat more often causing throttling, also moisture and dirt will end up blocking your laptop's inner parts. Many people avoid cleaning their laptops by opening them as they do not know much about computers but this will be a problem for them in future.

If you don't know how to clean your laptop by yourself then you can go to a nearby computer store and ask them do it. Sometimes a lot of thing go inside your laptop which might even kill your computer. Cleaning your laptop will make sure nothing unwanted happens with it.

Keep your Laptop in Proper Places

I have seen many people who keep their laptops in places which are hot, allow bright sunlight to enter and places with a lot of dust. Keeping and Using you laptop in the following places will harm it and this won't only cause Over-Heating but this will harm your battery as the battery life will degrade more in hot places and die resulting you to spend extra bucks.

Many people even use their laptop on bed or over cloth sheets instead of using it on a plain smooth surface, using a laptop on an irregular surface affects your laptops air ventilation and the fans inside your laptop can't properly get rid of hot air causing that hot air to remain inside making your system warmer.

Thus, you should your laptop on proper plain surfaces and you shouldn't even think about playing heavy titles on bed. You should keep your laptop in cool places where there is a proper ventilation and air conditioning with not too much of warm sunlight.

Take Care of Your Battery

Having a battery inside your laptop is what makes it different from a desktop computer. Laptops are designed for people who need to have a machine to do their work wherever they are. The battery used in laptops is not like the battery used in mobile phones which can run for days. Laptop battery is more fragile and most people don't understand it and do all heavy tasks on battery day long. This will stress your battery and cause the battery life to decrease.

It is recommended to use a charger while doing heavy tasks but plugging in your laptop is another problem which will also harm your battery and deplete its battery life. It is advised to not charge your laptop over 80%-85% battery level. Still you  should calibrate your battery once a month to make sure your system is showing correct battery levels.

Be Gentle while using Your laptop

People forget about being gentle with their laptop with time. Things Like Opening your Lid aggressively will damage it and your fate is worse, it will break. Also, you need to use your ports carefully and without using too much force, this might damage your cables, pen drives and even the insides of your ports.

While using your laptop for long time, it is best to use external mouse and keyboard and if you are writer then just use an external keyboard as the keys of a laptop are much fragile than external ones. Thus its better to use external tools because if sometimes you spill over something, it would not be your laptops keyboard to be damaged.

Give Your Laptop a Rest

After you are done using you laptop don't forget to shut your laptop down. Just putting your lid down won't shut it down and if you will using your laptop after couple of minutes then it won't be a problem but not shutting your laptop overnight will harm its battery and also it will use some battery as it is still on. Turn off your laptop gives it a rest as the system can now cool down and get ready for the next day.

Stay Away From Sketchy Sites

While surfing across the web, we sometimes click on some sketchy sites and links. Doing this is not always a problem as your anti-virus program protects your laptop but some sometimes malware can by-pass your anti-virus program and do its job. That's why you shouldn't click on sites you think are suspicious.

Still if want to pirate something than its better to use better browsers which automatically scans such malware and allow you to do what you were doing.
