How much storage do you need for your mobile in 2022?

'How much internal storage do I need in my smartphone?' is a thing that always comes to our mind before buying a mobile phone 'Should I get 64GB or 128GB or 256GB internal storage model.' Doesn't it?

Here's a small guide for buying the perfect mobile storage variant in 2022.

There are many variants of internal storage ranging from few Gigabytes to even a Terabyte (but buying a Terabyte storage phone is just waste on money). You can always increase your mobile storage by using a Memory card but it is not that great as the real internal storage of a phone.

See whenever you buy a new mobile phone you never get the exact free storage as it is shown because your system is always occupying some Gigabytes of storage depending on your phone and brand. This may range from 5 to 15 or even upto 20 Gigabytes of storage loss but we can't do anything until rooting the device which ends the warranty of your phone.

You will definitely click some photos or record videos to capture your memories and it generally takes up around less than 5 Gigabyte of storage for photos(well this also depends on your camera and whether if you love photography) but if you love to click a lot of photos than even 8 - 10GB storage is not enough especially when you click photo on great resolution. Well you always have cloud storage but you will need to spend a lot of storage data to upload and download your memories.

Apps like Facebook, WhatsApp, etc generally take a lot of storage combined, if you have a lot of contacts than you data is even more than 20GB. When you come at mobile games they are not as big as pc games but even they are nowadays of more than 2GB in size (most of the games are less than 100MB so don't worry).

Music also generally takes around 2 - 5GB storage if you are a music lover like me.

So I recommend buying a smartphone with 128GB storage to be some future proof and 64GB if you are tight on budget (you would have only a few GB left) but if you don't do that much things on your phone then even a 32GB smartphone would be enough and if you love taking high resolution photos than 256GB is enough. 512GB and above are waste of money.
