Ryzen 5 3600 Review | Specs, Price, Performance with benchmarks

AMD released the third gen Ryzen Processors on July 7, 2019 which was to fight back the Intel's tenth generation Processors. On the same day as the as the 3000 series launch, AMD launched the Ryzen 5 3600 which was the second most powerful CPU in Ryzen 5 series ( now third ) even though it was not the most powerful CPU but the performance which it gave was overwhelmed even the Core i7 in multi tasking whereas it was a bit more better than Core i5 9600k in gaming. Most importantly it came at the price of around $200 at launch and was able to compete many other high end CPU's. Is the Ryzen 5 3600 still the best budget CPU out in the market after an year?

SPECIFICATIONS

The Ryzen 5 3600 comes with 6 cores along with the support of Hyper-Threading ( 12 threads ). It has the Base Clock Frequency of 3.6 GHz and can be overclocked upto 4.2 GHz. It has l3 cache of 32 MB and TDP of 65 W. It is based on ZEN 2 Micro-Architecture and manufactured on a 7 nm process. It supports the AM4 socket and can be paired on any good Motherboard like B550, x570 and B450 Tomahawk. It does not have an integrated graphics so you have to use a dedicated graphics card for display. It can support up to 64 GB DDR4 Memory @3200 MHz ( memory depends on the motherboard too ).

BENCHMARKS AND STUFF

Judging by the specifications, this beast is pretty powerful but it comes at the price of $160 - $180 which is even better as there is no CPU out there which performs like it at this price and a good B450 Motherboard can be found for a cheaper price than others which makes it the best option for budget gamers and streamers. Now finally its the time for benchmarks and I have paired a RTX 2060 Super with ( you can pair a RTX 2080 ) and 16 GB of 3000 MHz DDR4 RAM (3200 MHz would be better ). Cinebench R15 and 5 games are played on 1080p resoltion at ultra settings.

The Ryzen 5 3600 paired with a RTX 2060 Super will run any game on ultra settings on 1080p ( forget the ray tracying feature) on more than 100 FPS and will give you 50+ FPS on 1440p and High Settings. This CPU scored 197 points in Cinebench R!5 singlecore tests which more than the new Core i5 10400 and 1578 scores in multi tasking which too are more than Core i7 9700K and are enough for 1080p @60Hz streaming while gaming on ultra settings along with a good GPU.

In the end this CPU is a beast and will remain until another such CPU comes but sometimes it depends as the price difference in countries are sometimes a problem and it would cost more or less than its original price. So, If it is available for a good price which suits your budget then go with this beast.
