Ryzen 5 3600 is one of the best budget Processors available on the market. Launched in July 2019, it is still one of the best Processor you can find on the market, costing less than $200 it provides the best performance in every field at this price point. But on the other hand, how would it perform when compared to a somewhat expensive Ryzen 7 2700x which costs about $230 and used to be a High End Processor from AMD until the launch of ZEN 2 Processor. Both are not that good for a comparison as the difference between the prices is $40-$50 but we are still going to do it!
Before that let me tell that I have made separate blogs on both the Processors and you can read them if you want.
Specifications
Ryzen 5 3600
The Ryzen 5 3600 comes with 6 cores along with the support of Hyper-Threading ( 12 threads ). It has the Base Clock Frequency of 3.6 GHz and can be overclocked upto 4.2 GHz. It has l3 cache of 32 MB and TDP of 65 W. It is based on ZEN 2 Micro-Architecture and manufactured on a 7 nm process. It supports the AM4 socket and can be paired on any good Motherboard like B550, x570 and B450 Tomahawk. It does not have an integrated graphics so you have to use a dedicated graphics card for display. It can support up to 64 GB DDR4 Memory @3200 MHz ( memory depends on the motherboard too ).
Ryzen 7 2700x
The Ryzen 7 2700x comes with 8 cores along with Hyper-Threading ( 16 threads ) and frequency of 3.7 GHz which can be further Overclocked up to 4.3 Ghz. It comes with a total of 14 MB l3 Cache and 105 W TDP. It is based on the Zen+ Micro-Architecture and processed on a 12 nm Technology. It comes with no integrated Graphics and you have to pair it with a graphics card or you won't get display. It can be paired with a good AM4 Socket Mother-boad like B450, x570 ,x470, B550 ( do not buy a A320 to pair with it ). A maximum of 64 GB DDR4 RAM can be supported ( the Memory support differs in each Mother-bord, only higher end Motherboards like x570 can support 64 GB RAM ) with a frequency of up to 3200 MHz. The specs are given in the table below.

That was for the specs and both had their own good and bad points like the old Ryzen 7 2700x had more Cores and Threads along with more Clock Speed but the main problem was high TDP. Ryzen 5 3600 had less Cores and Threads along with slightly low Clock Speed but it had much lower TDP and was from the latest Generation. But everyone knows that this kind of stuff is useless as long as we do not get the Benchmarks. The benchmarks of these Processors are given below:
I have paired both the Processors with a RTX 2060 Super with ( you can pair a RTX 2070 Super ) and 16 GB of 3000 MHz DDR4 RAM (3200 MHz would be little bit better ). Cinebench R15 is tested and 5 games are played on 1080p resoltion at ultra settings.
