$45 Core i5 3470 | Price, Specs, Performance with benchmarks

Intel released the Core i5 3470 on 8 August, 2020 which was a new CPU from Intel third Generation Core Series which were based on the new 22 nm Ivy Bridge Micro-architecture. It was a low end third end Core i5 Processor and came at the price of $180 - $200. Now, it comes atmost $50 only.

This third Generation CPU is based on Intel's Ivy Bridge Micro-architecture which was fabricated on 22 nm lithography technology which is better than 32 nm Second Generation sandy Bridge CPUs.

It has 4 cores and 4 threads upto 3.6 GHz Boost Frequency. To keep in mind this CPU is locked on 3.2 GHz and only increases the Clock Speed when required by the appilcation. The Base Clock has little more improvement than Core i5 2400 (another low end second Generation Core i5)

It comes with 6 MB of Smart Intel L3 Cache and a TDP of 77W which is better than the Core i5 2400 with 95 W TDP. This CPU supports faster DDR3 Memory Frequency upto 1600 MHz which is again an improvement from the slow 1333 MHz RAM supported by Second Gen CPUs.

This CPU supports the LGA1155 motherboard socket and can be paired with motherboards like z77 and H61. This CPU comes with integrated Intel HD 2500 graphics which has Base Frequency of 650 MHz and Max Dynamic Frequency of 1.1 GHz.

The Results below are shown by the Core i5 3470 when paired with 16 GB 1600 MHz Memory and Radeon RX 570

This CPU is pretty much same as a Ryzen 3 1200 in most of tasks and also is a bit cheaper. You can pair it with a Radeon RX 570 and play on High 1080p settings. It can do your normal editing work and a little bit streaming.

It's not an overkill CPU  but it's a great option for a tight budget.
